The winner of this year’s Dairy Women’s Network (DWN) Celebrate You award, presented at its conference was Katrina Knowles.

She has two dairy farms in Taranaki, at Stratford and Inglewood, which are now managed by her two sons. Katrina has only recently relinquished some of her on-farm roles and is still heavily involved in the business.

Presenting the award, general manager Lynda Clark said Katrina was a very positive role model and had acted as mentor for other women in the industry.

“Having qualified herself through Agriculture ITO and Dexcel study courses, Katrina went on to encourage others as a tutor,” she said.

“As regional group convenor for the network she has rallied women to grow their skills and make them realise that the sky is the limit for what you can achieve.”

The award is presented to women active within the DWN who demonstrate leadership, overcome challenges and take up training and other opportunities to help them climb their own ladder of success. Clark said all the entrants this year had been of a high calibre.
